Day Rooms Have a layover?
We offer special rates at over 200 airports for day stays between the hours of 0800 and 1900. All hotels offer full service amenities, services, and free transportation. All of our hotels offer either 1 or 2 beds - special family rates may also be available for your stay. In addition, many of our hotels offer business center services.
Information and help desks The international Terminal help desk is located next to the glass lifts in the centre of the Terminal on Departures level 2; the Tourism New South Wales information desk is located in the centre of Arrivals level 1, open every day 0600-until the last flight. There is also an airport information line (tel: 2 9667 9111). Domestic help desks are situated within the Qantas, Ansett and Domestic Express domestic Terminals.
Airport Facilities Foreign currency exchange and ATMs are located on Departures level 2 and Arrivals level 1 of the international Terminal. Postal and fax facilities can be found at Australia Post located in the centre of Departures level 2 and the airport bar provides internet and email services. There is a medical centre on international Terminal level 3, open Monday-Friday 0800-1800 and Saturday-Sunday 0900-1600. There are several restaurants and cafés at the airport and over one hundred shops, including a pharmacy. Official Sydney 2000 Olympics merchandise is available. Passengers can smoke in a dedicated smoking room once they have passed through immigration at gate 32.
Disabled Facilities Facilities for disabled passengers include showers, toilets, ramps and lowered telephones; passengers with special needs are recommended to advise their airline at least 72 hours before departure. Wheelchairs are available from the Tourism New South Wales Desk. Business Facilities A media/conference centre with full Audio/Visual and broadcast facilities for up to 55 people is located at the northern end of international Arrivals level 1 whilst the Kingsford Smith conference and display centre is located on level 3 and can seat up to 500 people. VIP lounges with full business and private meeting facilities are located at each end of the international Terminal Arrivals area. Access to these areas is restricted. Six airline membership lounges are located within the Terminal and are available to members. Post and fax services can be found at Australia Post on Departures level 2 of the international Terminal.
Car Rental Avis, Budget and Hertz are all represented; turn left when leaving the international Arrivals hall.
Car Parking The airport has three car parks: the international Terminal daily, the Wilson domestic daily and the Wilson long term (three days plus). There are also 42 short term 'Quick Parks' positioned close to the international Terminal as well as a centrally located pick-up and drop-off area.
Driving Directions Most routes to the airport have {aeroplane symbol} signs showing which way to turn at each junction; these signs show the most direct route to the airport. See the airport's website for detailed driving directions from several areas in Sydney.
Public Transport & Taxis An Airport Rail Link (tel: 2 9384 1000) connects the international and domestic Terminals and the city centre. A taxi rank is located outside the mid-point of the international Terminal Arrivals hall; maxi-taxis and wagons as well as normal taxis offer baby capsules and wheelchair access; the journey to the city centre takes roughly half an hour. The coach and bus area is on the right, next to the airport's outdoor Piazza, after leaving the international Arrivals hall. Pre-booked limousines are available directly in front of the international Arrivals hall. At the domestic precinct there are covered waiting areas at bus stops (outside the Domestic Express Terminal and opposite the Ansett and Qantas Terminals) used for coaches and city express buses. Taxi ranks operate directly outside each Terminal. The Domestic Airport Rail Link Terminal is equidistant between the three domestic Terminals.
