Best of all, you have a 75 mile drive to the airport (better hope there's no snow in the forecast). Information and help desks Visitor information services open 0800-2100 daily and are located in the west lobby, in the west Terminal and in the east baggage claim. All visitor information service representatives are bilingual or multilingual. There is also a Traveler's Aid counter in the east baggage claim.
Airport Facilities A full service bank and post office are located in the main ticket hall. ATMs and foreign currency exchange can be found throughout the airport.
Disabled Facilities The airport is fully physically accessible for people with disabilities and there are five TDD telephones throughout the airport (TDD tel: 504 463 1057).
Business Facilities The airport has a conference centre, open 0830-1630 (tel: 504 464 3547), located on the mezzanine level above concourse C. Facilities include meeting rooms accommodating from four to fifty people with audio visual equipment, conference call capability, data ports, presentation equipment and catering services.
Car Rental Rental companies include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National.
Car Parking The airport has a large parking garage on site for long and short-term parking. There is also an outdoor car park for long and short-term parking located next to the parking garage.
Driving Directions From Interstate 310 take the Airline Highway (Highway 61) north east to the airport. From New Orleans take the Interstate 10 west and then the exit for the Airport Access Road which brings you directly to the Terminal.
Public Transport & Taxis Taxis are readily available on the lower level outside baggage claim. The Airport Shuttle service is available from the airport to the hotels in the Central Business District (tel: 504 465 9780 for information or to reserve a stretch limousine). Jefferson Transit (tel: 504 367 7433) provides public buses to areas in the local district. Pick-up for the Greyhound Bus (tel: 504 525 9371) is located on the upper level outside Entrance 7. Coastliner (tel: 1 800 647 3957 toll free) runs nine shuttles per day to destinations on the Mississippi coast. Amtrak's Union Station is located at 1001 Loyola Avenue. Amtrak does not provide transportation to or from the airport, so passengers should use bus or taxi services to reach the station.
